The medical residency training in Israel includes a 6-month period designated for research, (aka Basic Science). The BioHub program aims to optimize this time period and enhance medical research and research education for young MDs through close mentorship provided by principal investigators from broad fields of research (e.g., Biology, medicine, Bioinformatics), carefully matched to the residents.
This program will gradually become an infrastructure for a national network for basic and translational research for future academic and research collaborations.
Target Audience
Residents in their second through fourth year of residency, with a keen interest in applied or translational research.
Mentors for the program are PIs with an advanced research lab in academia, research, or medical institute, with a deep interest in teaching and ongoing research collaborations.
